Moschino Mari, 2017

Made in October 2017 to be sold at Amaicon. This is part of a set of 9 illustrations inspired by Love Live! Sunshine!! and fashion advertisements in Harper's Bazaar.

Magazine cutouts were glued to cardstock to create the background. A marker and ink illustration on cardstock was composited onto the background in Photoshop.

Moschino as a brand is so very "Mari", so I had to find something Moschino for her, and I'm lucky it was this. The shredded, smoky, ~shiny~ purple dress is just her type! I wasn't quite feeling the bare legs in the original, so I put her in tights and boots instead. The background is a very severe departure from the original -- it's very cool-toned. Chunks of the dress photo from the ad are used in the background.
