Ralph Lauren Kanan, 2017

Made in October 2017 to be sold at Amaicon. This is part of a set of 9 illustrations inspired by Love Live! Sunshine!! and fashion advertisements in Harper's Bazaar.

Magazine cutouts were glued to cardstock to create the background. A marker and ink illustration on cardstock was composited onto the background in Photoshop.

The long blue coat and ruffly shirt immediately made me think of Kanan's carefree but mature style. Gold ink was used to recreate the coat design, but I took some artistic liberties because paisley's not my strong point. Lots of elements from the ad were used to embellish the background.
