Coach Ruby, 2017

Made in October 2017 to be sold at Amaicon. This is part of a set of 9 illustrations inspired by Love Live! Sunshine!! and fashion advertisements in Harper's Bazaar.

Magazine cutouts were glued to cardstock to create the background. A marker and ink illustration on cardstock was composited onto the background in Photoshop. I love her.

Ruby is a good girl and deserves cute clothes. Ruby's sweet youthful attitude pairs well with a big cuddly jacket -- I was torn between the red and blue jackets, but the pink patches on the blue jacket, as well as the simpler denim skirt, ended up being the way to go here. The background is very dominated by an ad I thought was absolutely perfect for Ruby, with some Geico macarons for size.
