Louis Vuitton Riko, 2017

Made in October 2017 to be sold at Amaicon. This is part of a set of 9 illustrations inspired by Love Live! Sunshine!! and fashion advertisements in Harper's Bazaar.

Magazine cutouts were glued to cardstock to create the background. A marker, paint, and ink illustration on cardstock was composited onto the background in Photoshop. The chevron embellishments on the vest were an absolute nightmare and required several rounds of painting and marker to draw.

Riko's hidden edges come out in full force here, and her bold red hair is an obvious complement to the bold black, white, and red outfit. I couldn't think of anyone else when I saw it -- she had to wear it. Very little of the ad was used in the background.
