Etro Hanamaru, 2017

Made in October 2017 to be sold at Amaicon. This is part of a set of 9 illustrations inspired by Love Live! Sunshine!! and fashion advertisements in Harper's Bazaar.

Magazine cutouts were glued to cardstock to create the background. A marker and ink illustration on cardstock was composited onto the background in Photoshop.

Hanamaru suits clothes that are comfortable to the point of being overwhelming. She's very natural, but enjoys having fun. The bulkiness and chunkiness of the outfit in the ad, I felt, suited her down-to-earth nature. Some chunks of the ad, like the mossy rocks, are reused in the background collage.
