Idol Research Club Mascot Art and Business Cards, 2024

As part of a secondhand anime and music merchandise business, Idol Research Club, I was tasked with creating a mascot to replace existing copyrighted art from an existing IP. The key art we were using before was of a character in a glamorous postal worker costume, and we wanted to keep the delivery-worker theme going. I designed her around our existing logo and our brand colors of orange, ivory, and magenta. Her appearance takes after my business partner, in order to open us to the possibility of her being able to cosplay as our mascot at our anime con booths.

A reference pose and sketch was made in Clip Studio Paint, then inked with Microns and colored with alcohol marker on Canson bristol board. The scan was stitched together and composited with recolored Adobe Stock images in Photoshop.

This key art is currently used (with some adjustments to the background) on our business cards, but has the potential for wider applications due to its size.
