I Am Not Afraid, 2018

Made in April 2018.

Inspired by Owen Pallett's song "I Am Not Afraid" and the cover to his album In Conflict (designed by Colin Bergh and Alexander Shoukas).

This is printed in three layers: the bottom layer is a wintergreen transfer, the middle layer is a printed linocut, and the top layer is lead and wood type.
I had several fears regarding how this would come out -- whether the top layer would remain legible over the black linocut and toner transfer, how things would align, and whether the printing ink would react to the wintergreen oil. However, I think everything turned out pretty well, all things considered.
